Ashenfall in RS4

Ashenfall is where RS4 begins. It is a landmass to the north-east of Gielinor, first explored in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. RS4 is set in the Sixth Age, years after Dragonwilds, and Jagex says the adventure will grow far beyond Ashenfall over time.

What Jagex said

"RS4 will be set in Gielinor, in the Sixth Age. But we're beginning somewhere that RuneScape players have only recently started to discover - and that is Ashenfall."

What it means

Ashenfall is RS4's starting point, not its whole map. Jagex says the adventure will grow beyond Ashenfall into familiar places and new stories across Gielinor.
