Jagex Announces a RuneScape Animated Series
Jagex is developing an animated RuneScape series with Lyrical Animation and Charlie "MoistCr1TiKaL" White. It is a show, not a game, and separate from RS4.
What changed
Jagex CEO Jon Bellamy announced an animated RuneScape series on stage at RuneFest 2026 in Birmingham, after the keynote. Lyrical Animation is producing it with Meatier Productions, the company of creator Charlie "MoistCr1TiKaL" White, a long-time RuneScape player. Jagex says development is at an early stage and that more details will follow in 2027.
"When we talk about the future of RuneScape, we don't just mean games." (Jon Bellamy, Jagex CEO)
What it means for RS4
The series and RS4 are separate projects. Jagex has not linked the show to RS4, to its story or to Ashenfall. Our reading: both promise more news in 2027, and both fit Jagex's plan to take RuneScape beyond its current games, but a shared year is not a confirmed connection.
Still unknown
Where the series will stream, when it will be released, which part of Gielinor it covers, and whether it ties in with RS4.
